19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the final five points to take the lead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour title, took control to create a final set.

He saved 4 early break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
